Group Classes
I offer six different levels of Beginner courses, each comprised of 15 hours of classes. Whether you are looking to take a one-off course to brush up your skills, or find a regular group & come with us on a longer journey to fluency, there is something for you here! If you need a higher level, I also offer conversation classes for intermediate learners.
These short courses provide a snapshot into the key areas of the language and are designed to be self-contained; you will not be required to purchase textbooks or extra materials; everything you need will be provided, including access to my online learning materials. You will also receive the PowerPoint slides, the agenda for the following week & any homework set after each class.
I have designed all the slides myself for these short courses, as I wanted to use my 13+ years of experience to develop something different from the traditional “here’s a textbook” approach that lots of evening classes use. This class is designed to get you speaking in a way that will propel you forward with your language skills in practical settings.
Each learner is entitled to a free 15-minute introduction session on Zoom so that we can get to know each other and assess your current level. I will also talk you through the controls on Zoom if you are not familiar with how to use it. You can book your free introduction session or reserve your place here.
Each course is comprised of 10 x 1 hour classes covering the core content of any given level. After this, I have designed 5 x 1 hour classes to consolidate & perfect your learning. They are option, but highly recommended! They will leave you feeling prepared & reassured heading into the next level.
Each group usually contains 3-5 students (with an absolute maximum of 6) and sessions are designed to encourage learners to strengthen their speaking skills in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.. If you miss a session, it may be possible to join another class running the same session at another time that week; as a minimum you will receive a full set of class slides to your email after the scheduled class.
The courses are designed to have practical application for travel & learning for personal interest. I firmly believe having a grammar component is key for long-term success with learning a language, but I promise to break it down so that it isn’t overwhelming!
You may also like to consider a blended learning approach; group classes are friendlier for your budget than private one-to-one tuition, but top up any time with one of my private lessons to consolidate your learning, ask further questions, revisiting themes or investigate a topic of particular interest to you that may not be covered in the short course. There is also the option of pair & learn, where I will endeavour to find a well-match study partner for you; share the lesson, split the cost (£25 per person).
pRICING FOR 15-week short courses
All short courses are paid for in the same way, to ensure consistency for group members.
Three instalments
Total cost for the 15 weeks = £225 (three instalments of £75)
NB: Mastery Classes 11-15 are optional, but strongly recommended if you plan to continue to the next level. It will ensure you have time to embed the knowledge & practise what you have learnt before moving on. In the instance you would like to complete weeks 1-10 only, these 10 classes will cost £150 in total, paid in 2 x £75 instalments.
After your free 15-minute introduction call on Zoom, to book your place on the short course we will ask for an upfront payment of £75 to cover classes 1-5. The course needs a minimum of three people to run, therefore an upfront payment ensures that the group can continue to run should another member of the group be unable to attend and avoids last minute class cancellations. A second payment of £75 will then be due before class 6 of the course, & the final instalment will be due before class 11.
If you cannot attend your class, please check with your tutor if there are any equivalent sessions running the same week that you can join. Alternatively, you can request any materials/ tasks set in the class to be sent to you via email.
Conversation Classes
Our conversation classes are designed as weekly sessions where intermediate & advanced learners can come together to discuss a range of topics in order to practise speaing & listening skills with the main aim of improving conversational fluency.
“I am absolutely loving learning Spanish with Susie at Pronounce Languages. I was useless at languages at school. However, I decided I really should try again and am so grateful I was introduced to Susie. I am in a group of absolute beginners and by week 4 I have been able to translate a complete paragraph. I am so impressed with how much I have learnt in such a short amount of time. Just think what I can achieve in 12 months? Passionate about grammar and languages, Susie has a lovely, approachable way to teaching. I can highly recommend her (in fact, I already have). Muchas gracias Susie. Julia xx”
How do I know what level I am?
It is of course of utmost importance to ensure that you are placed in the correct group; you want to be challenged, but not feeling out of your depth!
You can read our basic guidelines to help you enquire for the right class and establish your approximate level, but if you have any doubt, please contact me and I will help you to assess your level. Discover your Spanish level here or your French level here.
If you wish to understand your level in a more detailed way, I recommend reading the CEFR guidelines, which are used throughout Europe to assess language levels. You can access those here on the Council of Europe website.
